The car is in excellent condition, and has never been in an accident at all. There are a few minor marks on the body, no doubt from road debris. However, these are slight. There are no dents in the car, but there is a small bend in the front corner of the hood on the drivers side (left) by the headlight. I am not sure what caused this. Tesla is very specific in the way that you should close the front hood, as the body is aluminum and can bend easily at the contact point of the hood. However, this small bend is at the corner where no one should be attempting to push down on to close the hood so that would not have been the cause. If I had to guess, it may have been from someone trying to mess with the car at some point. The interior of the vehicle is in great shape with no damage whatsoever. I have taken really good care of the car, cleaning and maintaining it regularly.

I am selling my 2015 Tesla Model S 85D, mostly because I have purchased a new Tesla Model S, primarily to take advantage of the free supercharging in a newer model. And I discovered that my first Tesla is such an incredible vehicle that I felt like updating to a newer model. If you do not already know, this is not a normal automobile, and while it will change the way you feel about driving in general, it's very easy to own and maintain. For anyone who asks about the vehicle I say, it drives the way a car should. There is very little maintenance, all I've ever had to pay for are tires, and eventually will have to pay for brakes. Clearly one of the greatest advantages of the car is not having to stop for and pay for fuel. Even when I have gone on longer trips, and had to stop for charging, it is a benefit to pay nothing for the electricity. As of earlier this year Tesla has changed the way newer vehicles use the supercharger network by charging a nominal fee for it's use. Since I took delivery of this vehicle when supercharging was still free any owner of the vehicle will not have to pay to use the supercharger network. This will last, as Tesla Motors has stated, for the life of the car.

I will only consider selling this to someone who can come see the car in person, or are local enough that I can drive to meet you to view the car. I am not able to provide shipping, and do not have the ability to make these arrangements.

In the two years I have owned the car I have only noticed only a slight battery degradation, but this is very minimal, as I have been following all the advice from Tesla. I have noticed only a few miles of range difference in the past two years. With that being said, 56,000 miles on a Tesla is not the same as a internal combustion engine. First of all, the battery and power-train (motors) are warranted for 6 more years, and unlimited mileage. There is no transmission and no fluids that you will have to take car of. As pointed out when I picked up the car, the only fluid you have to worry about is the windshield washer fluid, as you don't tend to stop at any gas stations unless you need to pull in to clean the windshield. Annual service at Tesla can take care of everything needed for maintenance. When I needed to purchase tires, I ended up going to Tesla, as the cost of the tires and service was comparable with other tire shops for the same or equivalent tires. And as was pointed out to me, if anything happens to the tires, the roadside warranty would even provide the service to come out and fix the tires. Since there is no spare tire in the car, so this is a great benefit. I went with the original 19" Michelin Primacy tires, that were replaced in December 2016, so there is only a few thousand miles since the tires were replaced.

I did have the trunk chrome lift gate trim replaced recently by Tesla, as the original one was showing moisture in the back up light lenses. Tesla updated this with an improved version that has better weather-stripping. This new version has lettering which is more raised then the original, and has not shown any signs of moisture in the lenses. I have also applied a clear cover on the main touchscreen, which is less prone to fingerprints and protects the glass. I will leave this on, which can be removed easily if the new owner so chooses. I highly recommend leaving it on, as it does not affect the capabilities of the touchscreen, and provides protection to the screen.

I am listing the car at $80,000, based on the features and condition. This price includes everything that came with the car, which includes:
- The Tesla Universal Mobile Connector package, with a NEMA 5-15, NEMA 14-50 adapter, and J1772 public charging adapters.
- The two original key fobs, one of which was never used. I'm also including the fob covers originally supplied, two of neoprene and two of leather.
- All the Service records and documentation.
- White HOV stickers are on the car, and allow you to drive in carpool or HOV lanes with a single occupant.

The car is sold as-is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All sales are final, and no returns are accepted. I spent a considerable amount of time to document, and describe the car and its functionality in as much detail as possible, so the buyer understands the condition to avoid any misunderstanding or misinterpretation. If it is not listed here do not assume it is included. I invite in-person local inspections as well as pickup. Please do not contact me for any international sales, or if you cannot personally come to see the car. Acceptable payment is cash or check from a mutually agreeable bank. Absolutely no cashiers checks or money orders. I cannot ship the vehicle, so you must be available to pickup locally.

I am providing as much detail as possible so you will really understand the car and it's history to make your decision. I ordered this vehicle in October of 2014 from the Tesla website. And took delivery in March of 2015, so I am the first and original owner. I have all original documentation, as well as all the documentation of all service performed on the vehicle. Like most other Tesla owners, I enjoy talking about the advantages of ownership and am still marvel on a daily basis that I am driving an automobile of the future. If you've never owned a Model S, it really will change the way you interact with your environment, and not just when driving. If you do not know much about Tesla vehicles I hope this helps you.

I realize the following is a lot of information, but if you've never had a Tesla, and are interested in purchasing the vehicle, this may be very informative as it's my description of the features and my experience using them.

The 85 kWh battery, as compared to 60 kWh which were the only capacities available at the time. I did want the most range, as I intended to be driving a distance every once in a while. The dual motors, front and rear, adds performance, range, and stability. The dual motors are what eventually convinced me to buy the Tesla Model S. Not only did I need an all-wheel drive vehicle due to the weather conditions where I live, this provides better regenerative braking and increased range. I have driven this car into the snow on multiple occasions, and it performs extremely well.

Since there is no engine, under the hood is a front trunk, what Tesla refers to as a Frunk, for storage.

The Smart Air Suspension was something that I initially was not very sure of, but this has proven to be a wonderful feature. Not only will it provide about 3 inches of clearance between the lowest to the highest, which might not seem like a lot at first, but it can make adjustments automatically. It can adjust to the lowest setting on the highway when reaching a set speed, improving aerodynamics. The normal height is set at 6" of ground clearance, and can be changed from the touchscreen to High and Very High. This has been useful when driving in the snow, and on bumpy roads. When increasing the height above normal the location is automatically remembered, and will adjust the height of the car when returning to the same location. While this location based auto raising can be cancelled, if you always need this raised at the same location, you won't even have to think about doing it anymore. The Smart Air Suspension will also adjust the height of the car to auto level when carrying a load.

The Tech Package is one of the more important upgrades at the time I ordered the car. It includes auto presenting door handles, power rear trunk lift gate, fog lamps, front cornering lights, auto high beams, navigation, and AutoPilot features including traffic-aware cruise control, autosteer, auto lane change, as well autopark.

The dual chargers are a benefit if you would ever need to charge the entire battery at home in about 4 hours with the High Power Wall Connector. This increases the charging rate from 29 miles of range an hour to 58 miles of range an hour when using the high power wall connector, and was required with the supercharging option. While I have only charged at the highest rate at home a few times, it was certainly a benefit when it was needed. Normally I plug the car in at night, and set the amps lower to have the charge completed by the time I leave. This is the greatest thing about having an electric vehicle, plug it in at night, and it's ready to go in the morning with no stopping for fuel on my way to work, or on the trip home. And about charging, when plugging in, you can adjust the amps, the level of charge and the start time of the change using the touchscreen. Tesla suggests that the normal daily charging level be set between 50% to 90% for optimal battery efficiency and life.

With supercharging enabled you can take advantage of Tesla's Supercharge network and was an option when I ordered the car. As mentioned previously, it is grandfathered in for the life of the car. Free supercharging is no longer available for new Tesla vehicles ordered now.

The color combo of the car is one of the best in my opinion, due to the silver metallic paint, chrome window trim, and silver wheels. The dark interior gives a very clean look, and along with the panoramic glass roof and light textile headliner, it has a very open feeling when sitting inside the car.

If you do not already know, the battery pack is on the bottom of the chassis and adds additional rigidity, and lowers the center of gravity to improve handling and reduce the chance of a rollover.

Autopilot works very well, especially on the freeway, keeping the car between the lane markers and away from objects detected by the forward facing camera and radar. While the auto-steer does work well, I do not take my hands off the wheel, more out of trust than anything. But occasionally the car will drop out of auto-steer when it does not detect the lane markers very well. The traffic aware cruise control is one of the best features though. It keeps the car at a safe distance behind the car in front, and will automatically slow and stop based on the traffic. The automatic emergency braking has actually come in handy a few times. Since the radar can recognize more than the car directly in front, it can actually see two cars in front and can predict braking of that car and slow down even before the car in front of you. The automatic lane change will move the car into a lane next to you merely by turning on the blinker, but will only move over when the lane is safe.
